Introductory Biology I
The Introductory Biology course is intended for science majors and provides a general overview and introduction to the major concepts in biology, including cell biology, molecular and organismal genetics, bioenergetics and evolution, diversity, animal and plant form and function, and ecology.
Students who successfully complete the Introductory Biology course in Achieve have demonstrated:
• Conceptual understanding and ability to articulate biological principles.
• Understanding of the role of research and the scientific method in the biological sciences
• Application of active learning methodologies to learning biology
• Ability to use technology to explore concepts and analyze data
• Understanding of how biological concepts affect society
