Advanced Biochemistry

The Advanced Biochemistry course builds on Introductory Biochemistry topics of structure and function of macromolecules, major metabolic pathways, and the regulation of pathways. This interdisciplinary course emphasizes conceptual understanding, quantitative reasoning, critical thinking, and data analysis. Students who successfully complete the Advanced Biochemistry course in Achieve have demonstrated: • Ability to evaluate biological systems using biochemical principles and logic • Interdisciplinary thinking and problem-solving skills • Application of active learning methodologies to learning biochemistry • Ability to use technology to analyze data • Application through various formative and summative assessment
